Federal Foreign Office Berlin

The Federal Foreign Office set up a German-Greek Future Fond supporting research and social activities with the aim of examination and reappraisal of Second World War. By providing one million euro a year it supports reconciliation projects that shall create a common commemorative culture in both countries.

Freie Universität Berlin

Freie Universität Berlin was founded in 1948 and includes 15 departments, 7 graduate schools, 3 interdisciplinary central institutes and 9 interdisciplinary centers. Currently, 28,500 students are enrolled in undergraduate and graduate studies, while 4,800 scholars are pursuing a doctorate’s degree at the university. Freie has an excellent academic reputation, and has won the German Universities Excellence Initiative.

The Center for Digital System Center für Digitale Systeme (CeDiS) is the center of competence for e-learning, e-research, and multimedia at Freie Universität Berlin. CeDiS provides advice and support to all institutions and members of the university for using digital media and technologies in teaching and research activities.

Foundation "Remembrance, Responsibility and Future" (EVZ)

In commemoration of the victims of National Socialist injustice, the Foundation EVZ advocates the strengthening of human rights and of understanding among nations. It moreover continues to commit itself to the survivors’ cause. The Foundation EVZ is thus an expression of the continued political and moral responsibility of the German state, economy and society for the injustices perpetrated by National Socialism. The Foundation EVZ was founded in 2000, primarily for the purpose of making compensation payments to former forced laborers. The compensation program was concluded in 2007.Since then the foundation supports reconciliation projects.

National and Kapodistrian University of Athens


The National and Kapodistrias University of Athens was founded in 1837 and is the oldest of the modern-day universities of the Eastern Mediterranean. With more than 84,000 students, it is the second largest university in Greece. It consists of seven faculties. The study of history in the Department of History and Archeology provides an overview of European and global history and deals with general issues of the subject from different perspectives.

Render

Render is a tech company in Valencia. Since 1998 the company has developed Dédalo, an Open Source Software for management Cultural Heritage and Oral History. Dédalo basis concepts are: interconnection of documents, thesauri, multilingual data, multiple resources management etc. The core technology of Dédalo created a new paradigm of Linked Data for documents working in a NoSQL model. Dédalo is a long term project focused in Digital Humanities.
